弗洛伊德在梦的解析提出，人格由本我、自我和超我构成。人格投射成面具，成为了我们面对周遭世界的面孔，面孔可以展现真诚，也可以隐藏意图，中国人文化中的“相由心生”，是The Face系列创作的内核。作为创作者，我希望能透过作品，描绘出万千世界的多元文化和形色人们的情感意象，通过作品与观赏者建立起超越文化、语言、政治、立场的共识与认知联系。
